I Will Not Lose Hope

Yesterday I, and many others, voted for who we hoped would be the next president of the United States. For the first time a major party had a woman on the ballot for the highest position in our country. It was inspiring and empowering. I am trying to hold on to all that that means but it's hard. I feel numb and nauseous. I haven't been able to fully process what has happened and feel that at any moment I'm going to explode into a flood of tears and get sick. Oddly, something deep inside keeps saying that it will be ok and that I cannot lose hope. I want to believe that voice. I have to believe that voice. Here are some photos that are helping me get through today. I hope they bring you some peace.

Another Lower East Side gem.

I passed this yesterday on the Upper West Side. Seems oddly ironic and ominous now but this is exactly what we need to do right now.

If you need a space to share, someone to listen, a hug, anything, I'm here. I can't promise I'll have the right words, but I am here for you. We will be ok. "It's always darkest before the dawn."
