Mother's Day Gift Guide
Is buying a Mother's Day gift on your weekend to-do list? Did I just alert you to the fact that Mother's Day is fast approaching? Either way, I've got you covered. I know that nothing I ever get my mom can begin to express all that she has done, and will continue to do, for me, not to mention that my time in the womb wasn't the easiest and she had to go on bedrest (sorry Mom), but that doesn't mean I'm not going to look for something that she'll enjoy. I eschew the more traditional gifts of flowers or sweet treats, in favor of things that I know my mom either really wants, or will use often, the latter of which is also key because my dad is on year 2 of enforcing a "no more things can come into this house" rule. Keep fighting the good fight Dad. Here are the things I'm eyeing for this year. Mom, if you're reading, STOP now, or act surprised on May 14th!

3. A Mother-Daughter nail/massage day. Location TBD but the top contenders are Bliss & The Red Door Salon & Spa.

4. A gift card to Irving Farm, one of her favorite coffee spots (mine too, except my mom actually drinks coffee and says theirs is one of the best), which has locations near pretty much everywhere that her work takes her, at least when she's in NYC. Bonus: They are an awesome company with a focus on green coffee buying and they have courses in all things coffee.

5. There's a chance that my mom will be traveling on Mother's Day weekend. If so, I might see if there's something fun I can get for her to use while she's away - i.e. gift certificate for a restaurant in that city, a hotel spa service, or something to make her travels more luxurious.
